The Fraser Park Community Trust’s vision for the redevelopment is to build world-class facilities for a multitude of sporting activities and community events in South Canterbury.
We consulted widely within the community to reach the conclusion that while the central location of the grounds is optimal it needed to cater to a wider variety of sport and community events. The plans that we have developed have focused on this need. They’re a smart and flexible design that’s modern. aesthetically pleasing and fit-for-purpose not just not, but into the future. They’ll continue to house South Canterbury Rugby Football Union, but expand the functionality of the turf and facilities to cater for multiple sports, events, ages and gender. With that in mind, the economic benefits of this redevelopment for our region are vast. Not only will the facility attract a greater level of tournaments and outdoor events but also cater for conferences, functions and exhibitions to become the beating heart of South Canterbury. Our vision is for Fraser Park to become a real game changer for our region. Attracting sportspeople, teams and visitors to our region and help drive and develop our economy for the benefit of the wider region. |
